WSOP.com - Optimism Growing for July Real Money Launch

As May began, rumours began to filter through the online poker world suggesting that WSOP.com would be offering real money online poker to US players before the World Series of Poker began. Unfortunately, this proved to be misguided optimism. Although this expected mini sensation of players flocking to Nevada to play online poker during the WSOP was a false dawn, it does seem likely that WSOP.com will go live at some point this summer.

While it should be stressed that this remains a pure rumour, optimists will be bolstered by a post on a major online poker forum - apparently made by a WSOP insider. The poster claims that WSOP dealers were briefed on the upcoming WSOP.com poker room and told that it will probably go live "some time this summer". In a further development, photos of promotional banners for WSOP.com in locations at The Rio were posted to the same forum. That physical evidence appears to be the strongest proof of WSOP.com's imminent launch.

Details of WSOP.com's USA real money game offering have emerged. It is said that the site will host a $100,000 freeroll to start a 10 tournament series of events which will run alongside the November Nine. Although WSOP.com currently offer a full spread of games for Rest of the World players, the forthcoming inclusion of US players will surely combine with the aforementioned initiatives to drive player traffic to a new peak on this 888 Poker skin site.
