Full Tilt Poker Announce Live Event Qualifiers

The action on the new Full Tilt Poker site continues to revolve around Victor Blom and Tom Dwan. It could be contended that the action on Full Tilt is rather top-heavy, with many micro, low and mid-stakes grinders reporting low traffic and regular difficulties in starting games. Could the addition of live event satellites be the salvation for Full Tilt?

Full Tilt are apparently alert to the aforementioned issues and have launched another initiative in an effort to boost traffic. The coming months will see the return of satellites to major live events such as The UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) and Australia and New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT). The typical buy-in levels at which these satellites will operate remains unclear, however Full Tilt have promised an array of extra incentives such as last-longer competitions for those who qualify to the promoted events. It remains to be seen whether the satellites will promote a strong upturn in player traffic at the lower stakes, but this is another step forward. Given that many European and Rest of World players would find it impossible to travel to the oft-promoted WSOP events, Full Tilt’s promotion of alternative events could see them exploiting a neglected niche in the online poker market.
