Hansen to Headline New Poker TV Show

Since the cancellation of High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark, poker fans have been yearning for a cult poker television show. Attempting to fill that void is a new PokerStars-Full Tilt Poker show provisionally named 'Full Tilt Poker Pro Battle'.

The new show will take the form of a qualifiers v pros shootout similar to the format of the defunct PokerStars Million Dollar challenge that pitted online qualifiers against sponsored pros heads-up before the leading contender faced Daniel Negreanu heads-up in a grand finale.

Players involved in the 'Pro Battle' will also be drawn from PokerStars' extensive list of pros - including Alex Kravchenko, WSOP Main Event runner-up Ivan Demidov, Maksin Lykov and Eugene Katchalov. 12 satellite winners will win $3,000 packaged trips to a Kiev studio to battle the aforementioned collection of professionals. The lucky winner will secure at least $35,000 in earnings and the right to challenge Gus 'The Great Dane' Hansen in a $100,000 heads-up shootout. Of course, that amount would be small compared to the $10,000,000 that Hansen has burned online.

Qualifiers can reach the TV stage of the Pro Battle through direct buy-in qualifiers on Full Tilt Poker from October 13, with a series of freerolls culminating on November 16 to decide the final qualifier.
