Eli Elezra Hints at High Stakes Poker Return

Popular televised poker show High Stakes Poker could be returning to our screens. When interviewed after his recent WSOP bracelet win, Eli Elezra commented that he believes "it (High Stakes Poker) will be coming back very soon".

High Stakes Poker gained a cult following among poker enthusiasts through seven seasons on the Game Show Network. Through 12-14 hour-long episodes per series, High Stakes Poker took the form of a cash game involving many of the world's best players, tournament winners and wealthy businessmen. In early series, the show was presented by Gabe Kaplan and A.J. Benza. Series 7 was presented by Norm MacDonald. From Series 6 onwards, PokerStars sponsored High Stakes Poker and excluded Full Tilt sponsored players from taking part.

If PokerStars resume their sponsorship of High Stakes Poker, it could enable a resumption of the previous open nature of the show. Given that PokerStars are now linked to Full Tilt Poker, the likes of Tom Dwan,  Gus Hansen and Viktor Blom could take part alongside PokerStars pros and unattached players such as Eli Elezra.
