Online Poker Legislation Update

With the recent establishment of Ultimate Poker for online players in Nevada, poker enthusiasts in other states have developed optimism for legislated online poker. The past week has seen some developments across the country.

Republican New York congressman Peter King recently proposed new legislation which would allow online gambling to be fully regulated across the United States. If successfully approved, this would reduce the bureaucracy that has seen online poker regulated individually in only Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware to this point.

Meanwhile in Pennsylvania, a key representative has made some comments which seem to suggest that online poker will not be legislated soon within this state. Rep. Tina Pickett contends that "the time is not right" and that she is reluctant to bring online poker "to every kitchen table" at this point. Pickett speculates that online poker will not be available in her state until 2015 at the earliest.
